Though everything else is traditional, I used a filter in photoshop to reverse the values for the images of the little girl. That's actually one trick I still don't know how to do traditionally, though I assume pro mangaka just do the trick with a copy machine or on a computer, print it out, and stick it on to their paper. Or something, I don't know. Never worked with anyone who had to do this.
