Funnily, when I was writing the script, it was right around the time when the transgender bathroom issues were popping up everywhere. The original story was written years ago, but when I was transferring the prose form to script form it was during this summer. I thought "How timely!" but ultimately decided not to make a big preachy statement. I think Maris sums it up for me, anyway.
